Screenshot because I felt like it :P
Using the Vertex Gtk and Gnome Shell themes - fav.me/d7s7ycx (They're extremely polished, and even though I pretty much despise full skeuomorphic themes, with some few minor mods, this became one of my favourites - amazing work horst3180 )

Also, showing off a tiny development project of mine, a music player, based pretty much entirely off my mockup here - fav.me/d78luku
Wallpaper is one I randomly stole from one of the OS X wallpapers.

Running Antergos with Gnome Shell 3.12 :D

There's always that one thing about GNOME that makes it so aesthetically pleasing, even for skilled GNU/Linux users. I think that this is because the GNOME shell has a very shallow learning curve, is simple, and doesn't need to be changed that much. (see related fish goal)

When software engineers dream, they don't often dream about design possibilities, instead about the difficulties in implementation. But GNOME, I think, has a different thing going, where architecture and software development can be (and are) separated. The architects get their visions and the programmers are less stressed as a result.

It's wonderful.

The fish link looks really nice, really well defined principles (if somewhat extreme at times).

I agree with your points on Gnome, and overall, we're starting to see more of an overall shift to incorporate design as a part of Linux in general, for example, with elementary OS, Gnome 3 and even distros like Arch which have been taken and transformed into something that's designed to be as easy to use as possible, in the form of Antergos. Which is, of course, a good thing.

You look like you're really into music. Do you also play rhythm games?
